COVID-19 Financial Pressures and how Hospi-Call can help
COVID-19 has fundamentally changed many industries, with health care being one of the most impacted. With soaring infection rates reaching over 1,000,000 people in late April, the American healthcare system has had some tremendous challenges to tackle. To combat the pandemic, hospitals all over the country have set up mobile testing stations, increased the bed capacity in the ICU wings, and developed isolated areas for COVID-19 patients. Hospitals are facing immense financial pressure during this time as some patients are choosing to cancel their non-essential procedures, while costs for equipment are rising. A study conducted by the American Hospital Association (AHA) projected that by June 30th, 2020, “total four-month financial impact of $202.6 billion in losses for America’s hospitals and health systems, or an average of $50.7 billion per month”.
With this unprecedented situation, hospitals are struggling to meet their financial needs. They now need more help than ever to continue operating at a high level to deliver the care that patients deserve. Enter Hospi-Call. With our ground-breaking software, hospitals will be able to treat their patients more efficiently, better manage nurse’s time, and reduce costs. Improved bedside technology will streamline prioritization and delegation of nurse’s tasks. Additionally, the app will save nurses valuable time as the improved access to patient data reduces travel needed for supplies. The shift from the traditional volume-based care to value-based care will not only significantly decrease costs to hospitals by only giving patients what they need and not what they might need but will also simultaneously increase the turn around rate of patients allowing for the hospital to see more patients per day, ultimately increasing patient satisfaction.
